Family : Sneak Peek!
Yes, it's definitely the end of October and as California would have it, it's still burning hot. And Sunday was absolutely no exception. The good thing about Sunday was that I got to hang out these amazing gals and their doggie!

More photos to come, but just to tease you a little bit, here's a sneak peek!

I AM...
I've seen this list here before on other blogs and thought, "hmm...I should do this."  So here is my list:

I AM …easy going and with a good song, I'm happy.
I WANT… it to be summer all over again, I did not get enough beach time!
I HAVE … to shoot more for myself.
I KEEP… memories close to my heart, even the not so good ones :)
I WISH I COULD …be out of school already and just realax.
I HATE …when people are honest when they should be.
I FEAR … falling off ladders, roofs, or stairs.
I HEAR … my iPod working it's magic and playing songs that make my soul happy.
I DON’T THINK … I'll ever master grocery shopping.
I REGRET … not doing study abroad when  I had the chance.
I LOVE … my family, dogs, and friends.  Oh, and Dove Dark Chocolate :)
I AM NOT … as spontaneous as I once was.
I DANCE … all the time! I love to dance!
I BELIEVE  … that everything happens for a reason :)
I NEVER …have been to Japan, Switzerland, or Australia...hopefully one day :)
I RARELY … read.
I CRY WHEN I WATCH …anything slightly resembling an emotion, I'm a movie cry baby and sometimes commercials do their dirty work too!
I AM NOT ALWAYS … inspired.
I HATE THAT … noise in the morning that wakes me up and then it's stuck in my head the rest of the day.
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT …love.
I NEED … to buy my mother a birthday present
I SHOULD … go to sleep earlier and wake up earlier.

I have a midterm today in my finance class...hopefully I can crunch in some good studying time today.  Wish me luck!

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
What Makes Me Happy?
This uber awesome song! I don't know what it is about this song that just makes me smile and feel as if I'm driving along the coast with the top down (if I had a convertible, so in this case with all the windows down ) and just enjoying the very essense that is life.

I especially enjoyed today even though work seemed long and the drive to school was in vain since my class was cancelled...I just listen to this song and it makes me want to walk and smile at everyone I see.

And that's what makes me thank I'm alive...and that Jason Mraz made this song :)

Happy Wednesday

Portraits : All in the family

I love my family. I love that my family is pretty creative. My mother, a floral designer,

my sister

, a make up artist and hair dresser, and

my father

, a general contractor.

When they ask me to take pictures for them, I am more than willing to shoot what ever they want. So when my dad asked me to take some corporate head shots of him for his website, I said YES!

I love taking photos of people and it's even better when those people are my family. Love you daddy! :)

And if you ever need a

great contractor

with incalculable knowledge visit his

website

!

When Debbie called me and told me her absolutely fabulous idea for her family fall portraits, I was so excited! I love it when my clients take the reins and know what they want.

On the day of the shoot our first location was taken up by football players so we improvised and went to the UCR Botanical Gardens. The overcast sky provided beautiful soft light and the gardens allowed this super fun family to be themselves!

Debbie, Tim, Randy, Ryan, and Ricky, oh and Holly (the yorkie) thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of your day and get to know all of you! I had the most fun that day!

Events : Shake the Hand LA!
A week ago I was asked to photograph an event at Tantra in Los Angeles. I don't usually cover night clubs but my friend asked me and being that 1. I love to shoot! 2. I support all creatives and djs are by no means excluded and 3. because it was for a good time with some good friends.

There are a lot of pictures and that is the reason I've decided to put them in a montage of small pictures. If you'd like to view them bigger, simply click on the image and it should come out bigger :) Thanks to all the STH LA people who came out to support the DJs and to the DJs for making people dance!

What a night!
What is it with that when you are dreaming, and it finally gets to the good part (much like in movies) you wake up? What is the deal!?

I was dreaming ever so soundly this morning about a girl and her little brother and myself, although I think I was a character and not playing myself, traveling out somewhere on a train. The dress was very Narnia meets Harry Potter. I'm pretty sure that has to do with the fact that I absolutely love those two movie series!

Anyway, we were on the train and somwhere along the dream, the little brother was lost and all of a sudden we crashed.

I'm not sure how or what but everyone on the train was frantic and it was loud and noisy. Chaos surrounded us and we couldn't find the brother! Then out of no where, another boy with gleaming blue eyes and dark hair sat next to us and some how I knew he was important in the dream. Then, BAM! I wake up.

I was left questioning myself "What would have happened next?" "Would we ever find the boy?" "This could actually be a movie? Am I confusing it with a movie?"

I love dreams like this one. And of course, a photo. Happy almost Friday :)

The Big 2-3
Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to me!

I did not realize how much I have changed in a year and although I am at the same whopping size of 5'2" (and still growing, lol), I know that my life has changed as well as the person who I am. I am more patient, mature, wiser, grateful, and on the road to somewhere great. 23 never felt so good!

I'd also like to say to all who celebrated with me: THANK YOU! Because I simply would not be half the person I am today without your constructive criticism, advise, guidance, honest opinions, and love.

And a quick special thanks to all of my "honorary photographers!" Sister: thanks for making me look my best on my special day!
