Merry Christmas!

It's been so long since I've blogged here.  I am so sorry! I've been a little busy working on some new projects and have left this blog a little dry.  Lots of changes coming in the New Year and I hope that I can soon share them with you!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves and enjoy the present: Christmas Day!  We stayed home and enjoyed a quiet holiday just the three of us.  Decorated our little palm plant because Leon is of the age where it would have been crazy with him and ornaments and a tree and lights... so we propped up our little palm plant on an ottoman, strung some lights, and put our presents around it.

Ordered some KFC, blew up the air mattress in the living room and camped out while we watched some good old Christmas movies and drank hot cocoa.  It was perfect.

We went to mass and then came home to open the presents.  Leon was exhausted and by 11pm we were all ready for some down time.

It was a beautiful night and we were very focused on relaxing and enjoying our little Leon walk around playing with his toys.

How did you holiday?

Puerto Vallarta Beautiful Sunset Portrait Photography

Really? These sunsets over here are just magical.  I am in awe of the sunsets here in Puerto Vallarta.  Technically, we're in Bucerias but it's same side and 15 minutes from PV ;).

I used to live in Southern California and they have nice sunsets, but these top those on a whole different level.  Not sure what it is, but they are stunning.  And photographing people during this beautiful golden light is even better.

This is the last of these mini portrait sessions.  I'm hoping to do more soon! Lots of things are changing soon for us here (no we're not pregnant or moving, again, lol) but just lots of changes and they are all great changes that God is guiding us towards.  I'll keep that annoyingly vague for now ;).

On with the photos of this cute family!  Click on the images to view larger.  Comment your favorite below the post!

Beach family portraits | Puerto Vallarta Beach Portrait Photography

I have been having so much fun photographing these families during the beautiful sunset hours, and some not so sunset but it just goes to show that you can't take a bad photo of a family having fun splashing at the beach.  Add a cute flowy dress and flower crowns and I just can't get enough of it!

Baby L Maternity Beach Session in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

I had so much fun experimenting with this session during the most beautiful sunset!  Enjoying pregnancy, looking absolutely fabulous while doing it, and having a husband, soon-to-be-daddy that lights up when he talks to the baby on the inside just makes my heart melt.  It was such an easy going, light, fun, calm session.  And being able to try something new like dragging the shutter so the water looks like it's moving just made my whole evening.

Enjoy! Click on the images to view larger :).

Boys of Summer Puerto Vallarta Beach Portrait Photographer

This duo are brothers and definitely worked the session.  We didn't do your classic smile and sit nicely.  We had fun changing outfits, throwing sand, running, and changing outfits.  I loved this cool summer beach vibe these guys had.  They were so chill.  They belong in a magazine.

Sunset Summer Puerto Vallarta Beach Portrait Sessions

Nothing calms the soul like the sound of the waves crashing and the breeze of the ocean caress your cheek.  I love living near the beach.  And I love the beach even more taking amazing photos for families to cherish forever!

Today we have these cutie pies, two older boys are brothers and the three are cousins! So cute! I had so much fun with them :). And how can you not love sandy baby toes! Ah, love!!!

Sunset Family Sessions Puerto Vallarta Portrait Photography

Oh man, I've had such a surge of inspiration lately with these sunset portrait sessions.  The beach is about 4 blocks from my house and Bucerias has one of the most beautiful beaches in the area and I wanted to soak in the last bit of summer with some family portrait sessions.

I love how we just have fun, play in the water, and get some really good shots!

Our first family is Sindy, Dago, little N & P :)

Most special maternity session - My Sister!

I love having the privilege of photographing the most important moments in my family.  Especially this little miracle in my sister's tummy.

This was a while ago and little Tomas decided to come a couple weeks after ;).  But I want to share this session with you as my sister sinks into motherhood ever so fabulously!  Love you sister, Robert, and baby Tomas!

Torres Family

I love being able to photograph families doing life together.  We photography my cousin Jackie's little family adventuring through the UCR Botanical Gardens.  Finding sticks, playing hide-n-go-seek, and counting turtles.  Capturing their family just as who they are.  More and more I find myself doing these kinds of photos.  It just feels more natural to me than the smiley ones.  But not so aloof or stylized as the lifestyle photos.  Just more real.  And I love getting a glimpse of the real in families.  Because some days are just so good your heart wants to explode.  And we should always try and remember those days and how they make us feel.

Anyway, here are the beautiful photos! Click on the photo to make them larger.

Isa & Adrian Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, Mexico Destination Wedding

Isa and I first met during her friend's wedding in Mazatlan a couple years ago.  She is an absolutely easy going person who carried through her day like it was any other.  Truly enjoyed every minute of the day, which was fabulous! I just loved the way Adrian looked at her, he completely adores her.

Their day began with a first look, which are my favorite! It's so wonderful to see the couple before all the madness begins and give them some time and space to truly enjoy each other.  They had a symbolic ceremony overlooking the hotel's playa saying I Do with their closest friends and family.  That is what I love about destination weddings, truly those who attend are those closest to you which makes for a beautiful intimate wedding.

The reception was full of beautiful accents and details! Along with fireworks during their first dance!  Needless to say, the party lasted a good long while as we could hear the music when we got to our room that night.  Which I gotta say, makes for successful wedding day!
