Baby S and Baby M | International Portrait Photographer

2014 marks my 8th year as a photographer.  I started this journey long ago at the age of 20 without knowing where to even begin.  With no clients, only friends who wanted to help me learn and grow.

Ruth, a previous bride of mine, has shown me that trust can go a long way.  Not only was she a client of mine, she is now a friend and pretty much family.  Every time I get the honor and privilege of photographing her beautiful growing family, I feel like one of them.  When baby S would cry, I felt it sting my heart.  When little Markie gave his new baby sister kisses, it melted my heart.

Photographing these two newbies into the Miranda family is something wonderful for me. And I cannot wait to see these little ones grow into beautiful girls :).  Born only one week apart, these cousins are just too adorable!

Ruth + Angelica:  Thank you so much for having me photograph your newbie baby girls!  they are precious and I can't wait to catch up soon and watch these beautiful girls grow and grow!  With love, Jackie.

Family Mini Session | International Portrait Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing Gina and her daughter Gia when I was first starting out.  I had an amazing time running after Gia and playing with her at Fairmont Park in Riverside.

This year, I had the honor of photographing their growing family!  With little Matthew the same age as Gia when I photographed her all that time long ago.  We chose the UCR Botanical Gardens in Riverside which is absolutely great for running around, exploring, and keeping the kids entertained without any busy streets or worrying about too many strangers.  I love the Botanical Gardens :).

Here is a little sneak preview of this beautiful family!

I absolutely love what I do.  It's been such a blessing being able to use it create something timeless for my clients.  It's more of a blessing when I get to do that for my own family, who are my biggest supports and probably the only ones who read my blog, hahaha.  Either way, it is something that makes my job more fun and a bit cool seeing my cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. grow older right in front of my lens.

Dina, my cousin, named after my grandmother Delfina, has always been a huge supporter of my photography.  And I've seen her kiddos grow up so quickly right before my eyes.  I love seeing them and catching up and having a session just makes it all that more special.  We also went ahead and did some photos of her daughter Jackie, for her senior portraits.

Here is a little sneak preview ;).

Happy Friday!

Location: UCR Botanical Gardens, Riverside, CA

When I go visit Riverside, it's bittersweet.  I see my family and friends, catch up on all the latest happenings, and the best part is when I get to photograph clients both past and present.  It's always such a great part of my visit.

I'm going to be sharing many more sessions from this past visit during Christmas, but I leave you with a sneak preview of Jeff.  Who needed headshots... but we went ahead and did a full on session :).

Happy Tuesday!

____

Feliz Martes!

Just Because

Sometimes you just want a photo of yourself.  Just because.  Because you got your hair and makeup done and you're feeling pretty.  Sassy.  And when that happens, you can conquer the world one step at a time and maybe, maybe that guy at the party will smile at you and ask for your name.

Sometimes you just want a photo of yourself.

Little C! | International Family Portrait Photographer

This session overflowed with cuteness! I couldn't handle how adorably cute this little one is!  Thank you mommy and daddy for allowing me to capture her developing personality and cuteness!  And that head of hair at 8 months is fabulous!

lots of love!

Jackie

Here is a before and after because baby safety is really, really important when photographing a wiggly one in a basket.  It is imperative that your photographer is safe.  Here I told Anna that she could hold onto the basket to help keep the basket stable while little C moved around.  Mom stays close by just in case of anything and we get the photos that will last a lifetime.  Win-win!

Shramek Family | J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles

This family holds a really special place in my heart.  Ruth and I were class mates in high school.  We were in marching band together.  After high school, we parted ways as life has a tendency to do.  We reconnected on Facebook, which is such a wonderful tool for doing just that.  She contacted me for her wedding and confided in me even though I was just starting out.  You see, I had a lot of experience second shooting and assisting.  I had one wedding before Ruth + Mark's, but still kinda green.  It was such a special day, intimate with only her closest family and friends.  It was a perfect day.

So when she told me that she and Mark wanted family photos and if I would be visiting soon so we could set it up, if not, to refer other photographers to her.  I gasped and said, "There is no way another photog is taking photos of this family, they're mine!"  Luckily, she felt the same way :).  I have the best clients!

We set it up during my visit at the Getty Museum.  Such a great place to run, laugh, play, and have a good time!

Thank you Ruth, Mark, and little Markie for playing with me and catching up!  I wish you guys many, but oh so many, years of never ending happiness!  Love you guys!
