Family Session in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico

I love being able to step away from the beach and take portraits of families at the resort where they are staying. It helps to really commemorate their time there and remember their vacation as a family.

In this case, Katy reached out to me and invited me to take these really gorgeous photos of her and her family! I'm so glad we met because she is really sweet and just the nicest! She is also a photographer in the Delaware area so if you are looking for someone to take family portraits - mainly maternity and newborn, she's your girl!

We walked a bit and then took many in front of the fountain at the entrance to the hotel which made a really nice background.

That's the great thing about visiting Nuevo Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, and the Riviera Nayarit, is that there are so many great places to have your session.

It was a gloomy day but it made for such great colors and light. Thank you Katy for having me spend such a wonderful time with you and your family! Next time you come visit, it's tacos and margaritas ;).

Shramek Family | J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles

This family holds a really special place in my heart.  Ruth and I were class mates in high school.  We were in marching band together.  After high school, we parted ways as life has a tendency to do.  We reconnected on Facebook, which is such a wonderful tool for doing just that.  She contacted me for her wedding and confided in me even though I was just starting out.  You see, I had a lot of experience second shooting and assisting.  I had one wedding before Ruth + Mark's, but still kinda green.  It was such a special day, intimate with only her closest family and friends.  It was a perfect day.

So when she told me that she and Mark wanted family photos and if I would be visiting soon so we could set it up, if not, to refer other photographers to her.  I gasped and said, "There is no way another photog is taking photos of this family, they're mine!"  Luckily, she felt the same way :).  I have the best clients!

We set it up during my visit at the Getty Museum.  Such a great place to run, laugh, play, and have a good time!

Thank you Ruth, Mark, and little Markie for playing with me and catching up!  I wish you guys many, but oh so many, years of never ending happiness!  Love you guys!

Scrofano Boys | UCR Botanical Gardens Family Portraits

This session was so fun!  There is something so fun about brothers.  Especially when they like to have fun!  We spent the first half taking the traditional shots, the smiley ones.  The ones the boys do not like.  And then, I gave them the green light to get dirty and that's when the fun started! They tackled each other and rolled around on the grass.

When I came home, I was greeted by this comment from their mom Diana:

"My boys (ages 10, 9 and 8) had a wonderful time - and they usually HATE getting their pictures taken! On the way home, they said, "Can we do that again tomorrow?". How great is that?!"

Doesn't this one look like something out of The Outsiders??  I love the seriousness in their faces.

The mother of all posts... | Riverside Family Portrait Photographer

I have been so busy editing away all of the wonderful sessions I have had the pleasure of photographing lately!  Lots of families, cute kids, and loads of fun!  All of my Living Social families have been such a dream to photograph and I hope that they all love their photos as much as I loved photographing them.

I normally would do one post per family but I decided to post them all in one since they're all sneak peeks ;).

If you have not redeemed your voucher for your session, call me asap!  You have until June 29th to get your session photographed!

SOPHIE | BABY SESSION:

This little one was born a bit early than she should have but being that she was so excited to be in the world, she didn't take no for an answer.  Mom and dad were happy to have her come home from the NICU and have her photos taken.  Look at how adorable she is!  Mom did a great job with the little sign :)

STRANGE FAMILY | FAMILY SESSION:

Yes, that is their last name.  But they aren't strange at all.  In fact, they are all fun!  And look at their coordinating color scheme!  Gotta love yellow, white, grey, and black!  We had fun hanging out Downtown.  I gotta say, photographing 5 beautiful girls is one great treat.  Each showing their unique and beautiful personalities! From oldest to youngest of course.  And look at that tutu!!! Gaaahhh! LOVE!

NGUYEN FAMILY | FAMILY SESSION:

How cute are these kiddos?  The little one was full of laughs and the oldest was full of energy and kept running around.  We had such a great time!

TAPIA FAMILY | FAMILY SESSION:

This family was full of cool style!  From the black and white to the bow ties and pearls.  This family has it going on with looks and spunk!  We roamed around downtown and had a great time with the kids showing off their own little personalities.  Loved this family!

SWARTOUT FAMILY | FAMILY SESSION:

It is always great when I get a family that hasn't really experienced having a family portrait taken.  I love the challenge of giving them a great experience along with great photographs.  I had a great time with this family and can't wait to welcome the baby soon!

Whew!  That was a lot!  I hope you enjoyed these families because I did!  Can't wait to show you more families soon!

Happy Wednesday!

I've got soooo much coming up soon!  At the end of December, Living Social ran a promo for family portraits and they featured me!   I have 63 new clients to photograph and have already had 6 wonderful sessions!  I've met such great families, energetic kids, and some beautiful individuals.  I couldn't be happier and can't wait to meet more of the families that purchased the deal!

In the meantime, I leave you with some sneak peeks!  Now, onto more editing, an album to design and more sessions!

Moran Family Sneak Preview | Riverside Family Portrait Photographer
My sister and I are 3 years and 9 months apart.  When I was learning to crawl, she was playing with Barbies.  When I started playing with Barbies, she was experimenting with make up.  When I started making up my face, she was kissing boys.  And, well, when I started thinking about boyfriends, she moved out.  We kept a notebook of letters and would give it to each other when we'd visit.  And I spent that summer at her apartment.

We didn't play together and because of the age difference, we were in different stages in life.  Now that we're older, and now in the same age bracket, we get each other.  Often we say to each other with deep conviction, "we're all we've got."  Many times we fancied the idea of the infamous what-ifs.  What if we had a brother, what would he be like?  What if he were older?  What if we were the only child?  And right then, together, we declare, that it would just be way too lonely.

For the Moran family, they know the meaning of family, love, and most of all fun.  And they do it with style!

Here's a sneak preview of this beautiful family!
More coming soon!

Happy Wednesday!
